Scholars AGM 2025: Synodality through Protecting the Vulnerable Through Shared Responsibility

The Next Generation Leadership Programme (NGLP) Scholars Annual General Meeting (AGM) is just around the corner, promising a day filled with insightful discussions, meaningful reflections, and an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals committed to leadership and social responsibility.

This year’s AGM will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Tangaza University from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. It is an event you won’t want to miss. The theme for this year’s gathering is “Walking Together in Love: Synodality as a Path to Protecting the Most Vulnerable.” The keynote address will be delivered by the esteemed Fr. Anthony Yaw Akumah, OFM Conv., who brings a wealth of experience and deep insights into the intersection of faith, leadership, and social justice. His talk will explore how the principles of synodality—walking together in unity—can guide us in building a more inclusive and compassionate society.Fr. Akumah’s presentation will delve into three critical sub-topics that are both timely and relevant:

  • Synodality and Shared Responsibility: This segment will focus on the importance of collaborative decision-making and collective responsibility in leadership, emphasizing how working together can lead to meaningful change.
  • Love in Action: A Pastoral Approach to Protection: Here, Fr. Akumah will highlight practical ways to safeguard vulnerable populations through compassionate and proactive leadership rooted in love and care.
  • Building a Safe and Inclusive Community: This discussion will center on strategies for fostering environments where everyone feels valued, protected, and included—a call to action for leaders at every level.

The AGM offers a unique opportunity for scholars, leaders, and community members to reflect on their roles in promoting social justice and protecting the most vulnerable among us. It aligns perfectly with NGLP’s mission of nurturing leaders who are equipped to address contemporary challenges with wisdom, empathy, and a commitment to the common good.Beyond the thought-provoking discussions, the event is also a chance to network with fellow scholars and leaders who share a passion for making a positive impact in society. The atmosphere promises to be one of inspiration, collaboration, and growth.
